Year 9 Unit 3 - The Holocaust
The third unit of Year 9 history explores Anti Semitism in Germany, both prior and during the Nazi regime. Students will start by investigating the level of Anti Semitism in the country before Hitler rose to power in 1933.
This will lead into an in-depth case study of Hitler and the Nazi party's actions towards the Jews in the period from 1933 to the start of the Second World War in 1939- firstly seeking to establish the level of change, and secondly, to appreciate the brutality of the regime.
Finally, students will conclude this unit by investigating how the final solution was decided upon and a variety of interpretations as to who was ultimately culpable.
Students will sit an end of unit examination.
