Year 8 Unit 2 - Terrorism

History helps us understand and explain the world around us. In no example is this more true than that of terrorism.

 

In this unit, we study the history of terrorism and understand what terrorism is, why it is argued about, and what causes terrorism. We then study the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in depth, to fully understand why it is difficult to decide who is a terorrist and who is a freedom fighter, and understand why different interpretations exist of the same events. The unit finishes with our own investigations into the conflict.

 

We also read Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa.

 

The unit is assessed by a full formal written exam.
