Get Feltham Reading
A key priority of the Feltham History department is to get more of our students reading.
Reports have shown the urgency of encouraging a love of reading. More than this, it is vital that cultural and social capital is acquired as early as possible to ensure that the higher levels of GCSE and A-Level can be unlocked.
Therefore, our Year 7 curriculum is based around core texts, including Plutarch's Life of Caesar and HE Marshall's Our Island Story.
At Year 8, students investigate the Israel-Palestine conflict through authors such as Ilan Pappe and Alan Dershowitz, and the British Empire through Niall Ferguson's Empire and John Newsinger's The Blood Never Dried.
In addition, all History classrooms have an active lending library. Ask your teacher to borrow a book today!
