Year 7 Term 2 - The Tudors and the English Civil War

This unit takes us forward 1,500 years from the Roman Times to the Tudor times. Henry VIII is on the throne, and  students will find out about Henry VIII's reign - exploring why he is important, and the extent of change in England during this period. Students will then compare the successes of the remaining Tudor monarchs before concluding by analysing how the Tudors were portrayed in the text 'Our Island Story' by HE Marshall.

In the second half of the term, students will investigate the extent to which Charles I was to blame for the start of the English Civil War. Students will then explore whether the punishment awarded to Charles was fair through a variety of primary and secondary sources.

A written exam will complete this unit.
